I didn’t realize until today that configuring Gmail account in Windows Live Mail is so easy ! 😉
It was just plain simple ! Follow these steps,
Open the Add Accounts page in your Live Mail
Choose Email Account and click Next. You would be asked for email account and password and other details
Enter your Gamil account, password and under what name you want this email account to appear and click Next. Once you click Next, your Gmal account is configured now with Windows Live Mail 😀
The message that appears in the above dialog box is very clear 😀 . If you follow that link, it would take you to Google help page which explains how to enable POP for your Gmail account 😉
Once you click Finish,
And,
Now isn’t that cool 😀
Dude,
just a heads up. you might want to blank out parts of your email addresses.especially your personal & uni based ones.
PS. you should seriously consider installing a gravatar plugin for your blog.helps a lot & makes it look a little more lively 😉
Ashwin, if WordPress allows me to install and use plugins, why wouldnt I ?, lol
But, I can hide my emails in pictures 😉
i followed the same procedure but did not work
i see the following message . can u help me with this
The connection to the server has failed.
Subject ‘segtewrta’
Server: ‘smtp.gmail.com’
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP

Secure(SSL): Yes

Hari..It seems that there is some connectivity problem…are you in direct connection to internet? Gmail, Live Mail doesnt get along well with proxies, especially if the proxy has more restrictions.
I tried everything from changing the internet connection and trying various settings but get the same error that hari gets. It isn’t possible to access gmail with windows live but it works perfectly fine with windows mail…
@atul I use Gmail in my Windows Live Mail only and it works perfect for me. Did you check how the Internet Connection Settings in IE control panel is set? Just to make clear, are you using proxies?
